Smoky eye effect for my eyes? ?

Question

I have small dark brown eyes and I really love how the smoky eye turns out on all my friends but everytime i try it it looks way too harsh on my small eyes. anyway to make it look better?

and any other tips for small dark brown eyes would be greatly appreciated, because if you have small brown eyes too you know how hard it is to work with eyeshadow!!(:

I don't have small, dark brown eyes... but I have a friend who does, and I wish I did because smoky eyes look great on her!

What I'd suggest... is... lining your eyelid, but not lining the rim of the eye, and doing a very thin line underneath your bottom eyelashes, smudging it a bit for effect. Maybe experiment with different colours of eyeshadow if black or grey isn't the most flattering, smoky eyes can be done in lots of shades. Green would really make the brown in your eyes 'pop'.

Also, for small brown eyes... Curl your eyelashes and use a white kohl pencil on the rim of your eye. It'll really open them up and they'll look brighter :)

Try using green instead of grey, it contrasts dark eyes better and will bring them out more.

Extend eyeliner on top lid using a slightly raised angle to create elongated shape.

Below your eyebrows use a light slightly shimmery eyeshadow.

Wear a good concealer if you have dark circles under your eyes because it will bring your eyes out more. Always wear mascara and curl your lashes.

with small eyes like mine, go with a thin line of kohl eyeliner, then smudge the line, for the smoky look, then use a charcoal shadowand only go to your crease(it helps keep it from looking like too much). doubly coat your mascara, and dont forget to line your bottom lashes with black eyeliner.

Be careful getting it too dark. You may want to replace one of the  browns to a tan. You also might want to try it in shades of grays in the place of browns too. Use you liner AFTER you apply your shadows. Point your lashes outwards towards your hairline to help your eyes look bigger. Use white liner on your water line.
