Smooth Daddy to sweep the Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby Round 1 Heat 3
The four-year-old, Smooth Daddy goes just right by his name as is reflected through his profile. He has got a 4 to 1 shot for the Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby Round 1 Heat 3 on Wednesday, 1st August. The 550 yards race will be held at the Shelbourne
Park and has the prize money set at €250.
The race has attracted Krelo, Lolos Hope, Tyrur Justin, Drumurrer Vixen and Jimmy Boy.
The four-year-old hardly raced in 2010 and has raced just twice ever since the 2012 season began. The good chunk of the races on his profile is during the 2011 season.
The first five races of the career, in 2010 and at the beginning of 2011, got neatly lined up as victories. His career debut was in a 525 yards race on 9th October, 2010. He was not prominent throughout the race and got the title only due to the
lead that he took up near the line.
The four-year-old black dog took 29.09 seconds to reach the other end of the wire and defeated the runner-up of the race, Hows His Friend, by 1 ½ lengths.
The fifth outing of the career and third of the 2011 season got the Tyrur Ted’s son a hat-trick. On 5th June, 2011 he won a 550 yards race by running away quickly after leaving the sixth gate and then not compromising on the lead for the remaining
distance.
The Cashin trained settled the race in 29.72 seconds and won by the margin of three lengths. Finishing the closest to the winner was, Mines A Pint.
Such an energetic start was hampered by the deficiency of confidence in the next two races. The failures followed a training session at the Shelbourne Park on 28th July, 2011 over 525 yards. He won the race after the tuning session but once again
fell victim to the lack of consistency.
The black son out of, Hooch Babe, cracked into the new season with a drilling session and then a third position in the race that followed right after it. Racing just once after getting trained and winning at the Shelbourne Park during the 2011 session has
made provision for the four-year-old to win tonight.
