  1. You could just make it with fruit, or use silken tofu, or maybe a juice you really like. Bananas can make shakes creamier. I have a friend that adds peanut butter to shakes O_o

  3. Blueberry Smoothies

If you like grapes this smoothie will be quite the treat and for all the sweet flavor this is a very healthy smoothie recipe.

    Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups red seedless grapes

    1/3 cup boysenberries

    1/3 cup blueberries

    1/2 cup raspberries

1/2 cup of grape juice (I prefer sparkling white grape juice.)

    2 cups of ice

If you can’t find one of the berries, just substitute more of the others so you have 1 full cup of nutrient-rich berries.

    Peachy Keen Smoothie

Summer peaches, is there anything sweeter? Probably, but still…a peach smoothie in July is a good thing. You may wish to leave in the syrup if you use can sweetened peaches.

    Ingredients:

2 cups peaches (its up to you if you used sweetened or not, I do)

    1 cup 2% milk

2 scoops of vanilla ice cream or 2 cups of vanilla yogurt

    pinch of nutmeg

    1 cup of orange juice

    1/4 teaspoon almond extract

The almond adds a nice flavor, but try it without if you don’t have any, you’ll still find it delicious. Adding the ice cream really sweetens it up, so yogurt can take some sugar out. Blend this sucker up and enjoy!

    Berry, Berry Good Smoothie

This is a fun smoothie packed with everything. Adding a carrot may sound odd, but you’ll hardly taste it and the extra vitamins will do you good. Try it without the carrot if vegetables offend you.

    Ingredients:

    1/2 raspberries

    1/2 cup strawberries

    1/2 cup blueberries

    1 cup 2% milk

    1 cup apple juice (unsweetened)

    2 cups ice

    1 small carrot

Blend until the nutrients are singing.

    Cranberry-Apple Limeade Smoothie

Feel free to add more lime sherbert if you want your smoothie sweeter or thicker. Can you ever have too much lime sherbert?

    Ingredients:

    2 cups cran-apple juice

    1 1/2 cups of limeade

    1/4 cup lime juice

    2 scoops lime sherbert

    1 cup ice

    Blend and really enjoy.

    Stress Reliever Strawberry Smoothie

Strawberries are good source of vitamins and nutritional value. These are things that stress can deprive us of and drinking fruit smoothies containing strawberries can help replenish us and keep us healthy.

    Ingredients

    2 1/2 cups strawberries

    1/2 cup strawberry nectar

    1 pitted peach

1 cup low-fat plain yogurt or strawberry yogurt if you don’t have the nectar.

    2 cups ice

Smoothies can be made with a wide variety of fresh, frozen or tinned fruit or fresh raw vegetables, which means not only you can take advantage of low prices when fresh produce is in season but also have a delicious smoothie from frozen or tinned fruit both of which retain all much of their nutrients, at other times of the year.

There are 3 basic elements needed to make a smoothie :-

Fibre – in the form of fruit or vegetables

Base – most often in the form of a liquid

Frozen – in the form of  items such as ice

Below is detailed information about all three components under the 'ingredients' heading but so long as you remember your " F B F " you won't go too far wrong.

    Equipment

Whilst you can buy a smoothie maker, these are usually just blenders with a tap, so if you already have a blender or liquidiser, unless very old, it will suffice.

When using soft fruit or vegetables, the hand-held blenders are perfectly adequate for smaller quantities.

The only other necessity in most cases is a knife to peel and/or cut up the ingredients.

    Hope This Helps?

  4. i use soy milk.

  5. I use silken tofu, bananas, or apple sauce (makes for a totally different texture which might not be to everybody's taste).

Basically ANYTHING makes a good smoothie! :o)

  6. try putting fruit in the blender and adding milk.

  7. You really don't need yogurt.  I freeze bananas that I get at the grocery store at a discount price because they are too ripe.  I peel them, stick them in freezer bags.  When they're frozen, add one banana, vanilla soy/rice milk, and a couple teaspoons of peanut butter.  It's amazing!
