Sms from my landline fine - receive as voice text?!?

Question

I recently bought a BT mango phone which is sms compatible - among other things.

the thing i am having a problem with is the texts, i can send a text no problem, but everytime one is sent it comes through as a voice message just like any other phone, am i missing something in the settings?

Nope they come out as voice messages at the other end.

Contact your communications provider (CP), not all services are available on some CP's. The service may have to be set up manually.

Hi we got a phone set from BT and it has text compatability we use to get the voice text on out old phone but on this one it does come through as a sms, I think my mum rang bt to see how many miutes we had etc they may of activated it them or something,

Just ring bt and say you have an sms phone and you can text of it but when you are recieving sms there going to a voice message like the old phones and not a on screen sms like it should do.
