So i just started to snowboard this winter. I've gone twice now. I think I'm doing pretty good. (if you call getting down the bunny hill and only crashing twice ;) ) Anyway I'm trying to learn how to slow down (without using my butt) I put pressure on my heels and the side of my board faces the bottom of the mountain but then i have to face the other way. I mean its really fun fliping sides all the way down but i would like to learn how to slow down and then go to the position i was in.

Thankxx! (^=D*

  1. well if your on your heels facing down the hill you are one... then slowly release the heel pressure and rotate back to where you were. (the key is that the board knows to do it but the rider needs to let the board do the work while maintaining control.) once your back in the othern position you can switch to toe pressure. to slow down and keep your pace go heel, toe, heel, toe.

  2. Having to slow down and then go back to the position you were in is very easy. If youre stopping with you and your toeside pointing down the mountain, and you want to get back to the position you were in, all you have to do pull your board back in that position. Your question wasn't really detailed so its hard to answer it but Ive been snowboarding for like 6 years so if you need a better answer let me know
