Question:

Snack for the letter E?

by  |  earlier

I teach K and have been making a snack for the kids (or we have been cooking it!) at the end of the week for whatever letter we have been working on. (A = apples, B= bagels with butter, C= cookies, D=Donuts, etc). I cannot think of anything for E. I have to pay for it and prepare it, so I dont really want to make eggs or eclairs. Any ideas?!

  1. you could have something like elmos homemade bread... how about eggo waffles? lol those are my best ideas so far!

  2. the only things I could think of was eggplant..... you can slice it and place it in a egg  and milk mixer then into four with salt and pepper then fry it ......or enchiladas......or deviled eggs.....but you said you didn't want to make eggs. I hope this helps... good luck

  3. I can't think of anything easier than eggs to make.  I know you said you don't want to make eggs because you have to pay for it and prepare it.  However, have you tried this recipe?  It's easy.

    1)  Boil water

    2)  Put in the eggs

    3)  Set a timer

    4)  When the timer goes "ding" take them out.

During the timer time, you can watch TV, read something, or whatever else you find entertaining.

    Matt

  4. spread egg salad on endive.

drink elderberry juice. (or you could just call it that)

    escarole

    edamame

  5. Easter Eggs.. have an art project for east in November. I know you said you didn't want to make eggs but I am thinking boiling eggs is easier than scrambled or anything else.

    or an Everything trail mix

put as many different trail mix items you can think of and have a little bit of Everything trail mix.

  6. Elephant Ears

1 package (17 1/4 ounces) frozen puff pastry

    1 egg

    1 tablespoon milk

    1/3 cup sugar

    2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Separate pastry sheets and wrap each in plastic wrap. Thaw at room temperature 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 400ºF. Mix egg and milk and set aside. Mix sugar and cinnamon and set aside.

Unfold 1 pastry sheet on lightly floured surface. Brush with egg mixture. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar mixture. Starting at short sides, fold pastry toward center, leaving 1/4-inch space in center. Brush with egg mixture and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar mixture. Fold one side over the other, making 4-layer rectangle. Repeat with remaining pastry sheet. Cut each rectangle into 12 (3/4-inch) slices. Place cut side down 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Brush tops with egg mixture. Bake 12 minutes or until golden. Remove from baking sheet. Cool on wire rack. Makes 24 pastries.

  7. what about doing chocolate eggs(if you can find any this time of year) or make egg shaped cookies.  You could have the kids decorate the egg cookies.    I really liked someone elses idea off elephant ears.
