  1. THE SNAKES OR SNAKE WILL DIE

  2. dont get heating pad or heating rock it should only have a uva uvb lamp and heating lamp on when the sun is out and if u rilly want u can get a night lamp with a night bulb

  3. can you take it outside for real sunlight ? then it wouldnt need no rock.....i used to keep 2 pythons, so they kept each other warm. there was no rock

  4. dont't get a heating pad or heating rock.  they can get very very hot and can burn your snake. i know this person that brought their snake into petsmart returning their heating rock saying that their snake was laying on it and showed me the belly of the snake and there was all black burt skin. it is fine to leave the light off at night, i keep mine on, but it is up to you.

    good

  5. use a heat pad($15-$30)leave it on 24/7(unless the room temps are very hot like 85 degrees then unplug it) they don't need light. so you can ditch the lamp if you want .  if you do go with the heat lamp 12 hours on 12 hours off. just make sure the room temp. doesn't drop bellow 75 degrees at night.

  6. you need a under tank heater as ball pythons need belly heat to digest there food... i wouldn't get a rock as that could cause serious damage to your snake..... as for the light ball's are nocturnal so don't need the UV light.... the only reason you have the light is for you to see it and you could do that with your normal ceiling light..... you need  to keep your hot side of the tank at 88 - 90 degrees and the cool side at around 80 with a hide on both sides! leaving the light on 24/7 will only stress your snake out so i wouldn't recommend this! hope this has helped! good luck with your snake.....

  7. yes you can turn the light off at night. But i would get a uth to keep the temp. up.

  8. You need to get a heat rock or pad (doesn't matter). The snake needs a warm place for its belly to help digest food after it eats. Don't leave it on all the time, turn it off about 5 days after your snake eats.

There is a difference between heat lights and heat lamps, you need to have a heat lamp.  It gives off very little light (reddish) but plenty of heat for your cold blooded pet. You should leave it on day and night but at night raise it higher to lower the temperature in the cage. It needs to be only at one side of the cage so if your snake gets too hot it can move to the other side to cool. Get a thermometer for the inside of your cage ( a cheap one will do) it should be around 85 degrees during the day and around 78 degrees at night.

IM me for any more snake Q's.

  9. I have a ball python

    Ive had two so far

They seem to like the heating lamp way more than the heating pad!

I suggest leaving it on at night being they are night animals

they usually do there crawling around during the night time

I have a heating pad on one side of mine and then the lamp

I keep the lamp on most the time when the temp gets to around 80

    they like it around 80-82

you dont want it to get lower than 75 or higher than 85

Remember they are in a cage so if it gets to hot there is no where for it to go to get shade

Keep the light on and if he lays under it most the time he really likes it

but only get about a 40 watt if he is between 12 inches - 15 inches

when he starts getting bigger go up a little w/ the lamp

dont get a heating rock and if u get a heating pad make sure u tape it to the bottom* out side of cage* and cover it up w/ woodchips but kinda shallow so he can actually feel the heat but dont let the glass show through or else he can get burnt!
