  1. It actually depends upon the type of poisionus snake.  For instance, if it's a rattler type snake, they will let you know when you've invaded their territory.  (hence the term Rattler.)  You could Train dogs to sniff them out, or certain birds to watch for them.

Protective clothing is a must, and snakebite kits are mandatory.  You might not be able to stop the bites, but you can provide aid for them.

I would suggest talking to the local snake experts in your area and see what they say.

  2. either kill tha snakes or stop putting your people in the field

  3. 1) Protective gear, leather boots to the knee or hip area, or boot like leg covers that strap under the shoe and cover the shoe top, which can be shared unlike knee/ hip boots. If hot they can have vent slits. ABSOLUTE MUST ALL THE TIME. Always keep anti-venom and properly store it to protect it.

Use arm guards to the shoulder with a glove, finger tips can be removed or of light material.

Use leather, aluminum mesh like ring mail.

    2) You need to remove low dense brush and loose deep leaf litter in your work area when possible, which is where the snakes hide on the ground. Mow the litter to mulch if possible. That will not be possible if the cocoa trees are spread out and about the forest.

    3) Use snake traps like glue traps with or without lures before you go into an area. Look on line for them, there are a million ideas.

    4) Remove the snake's food source and they will go or use that source to get them where you want them.

    5) Train everyone in what the bad snakes look like and protect the good snakes. They compete with the bad ones and frequently eat the bad ones.

    6) Get dogs and train them to spot snakes but stay away till you deal with them.

  4. i had a lot of exotic birds and snakes was a problem, until i planted lots of ferns.that solved everything
