    Very true.

Garters Give birth to live young.

They are one of the very very few species of Snakes that give birth to live young!

    LOL!

  3. They wont hurt you but if you want it to leave then throw a few firecrackers around and it will be gone

  4. From your description, it MIGHT be a harmless Garter snake. Look in a field guide for your area to be certain. Leave them in your garden, they won't cause any trouble.

LAUGH OUT LOUD at the person who claimed to have incubated garter snake eggs. Garter snakes don't lay eggs!

  5. Sounds like a king snake (non-venomous). Snakes are beneficial as they eat garden pests. Just  be cautious and watchfull. There is no reason to panic or kill the snake.

  6. Ah, garter snakes are wonderful. I had a friend a couple years ago who caught a female who laid eggs, I helped him incubate them. The little buggers were adorable. He let me have them all, so I let them go. I miss them, I should have kept one.

    Sorry for this useless answer.

[EDIT: It must have been a king snake, then. I'm going on hazy memories.]
