  1. You should try letting him soak in a tub of warm water. how often are you feeding him? you should only be feeding him every 5-7 days at the most. he may not have fully digested his food make sure the temps are right in the cage.

  2. sorry but unfortunately this sounds like what happened to my iguana Draco                                      i tried this and it started to work but i was to late                  set him in a tub of warm water and rub his stomach and keep him in there for about an hour.

  3. Yes, that sounds like a problem.

Have you checked the whole cage, under/in hides, and under the Aspen bedding?

Are your temps and humidity correct? Do you have a warm& cool side in your tank, and have at least 1 hide on each side? If not, I suggest you fix that. Stress from not having plenty of places to hide throughout the whole cage, or having incorrect temps and humidity can be keeping him from digesting properly. Use a digital thermometer & hydrometer with probe (you can get them cheap in garden sections at stores like Wal-Mart, ect). Do NOT use the cheap dial stick on thermometers and hydrometers; they can be off up to 20 degrees!  Also, if you don't have enough hiding places, and can't buy any, empty cereal boxes, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, tissue boxes, etc, make cheap, adequate hides.

If you don't find p**p, then do NOT feed him again until he does p**p. The p**p should be brown/black with some white; the brown is the p**p, and the white is the urates. It will not be very big. If he is not pooping, continuing to feed him will just make him worse.

Get a rubbermade bin, rinse it out with HOT water & NO soap. Dry it out, then put a little luke-warm water in the bottom of it. Test the temp with the inside of your wrist to make sure it is not too warm; the water should feel barely warm. Then gently place the snake in the water for 10-15 minutes. Watch the snake at ALL times, he might not like the water, and can very easily drown, even if the water is very shallow (and it should be). Soaking your snake like this encourages them to p**p if they are constipated.

If that doesn't help the first time, try doing it every day or every other day for a week. If he still doesn't p**p, keep COMPLETELY checking his cage. Check every hide, inside and out, and check every bit of the substrate (which should be aspen). If you still don't find p**p, and he hasn't pooped in the water when you soak him, then you NEED a vet; he is probably impacted.

    Good Luck!

  4. When i got my ball python... almost the same thing happened. Although it was  3 weeks, and most problems with not pooping have other symtoms included, like: not eating or regurgitating. Other conclusions came out to be: over eating (resulting in constapation), eating something too large (resulting in stomach pains and/or constipation).

You also have to remember that the move to a completely new habitat, with completely new tastes/smells is very stressful on your reptile! So keep stress in mind too.

If your snake develops ANY odd symptoms remember that you should bring it in to the vet!!
