hey, i have a baby ball python, and this is his first shed. he really seems to be having some problems with it though. his area is at the proper temps/humidity, and he has a good branch and brak bedding...my other snake never had problems in this exact enclosure....

im just wondering if there is anything other then shed-ease or warm water to help him....i dont want to pick it as i want him to learn to do it on his own...

thanks

  1. leave it he will have to lern on its own do not do anything to help him   it may seam harsh but it works i am a vet so i no wat to do

  2. Please DON'T leave the shed alone. As other posters have said soak him in either a bath or pillow case. One other thing you can do is get damp paper towels and have him slide through them. Whatever you do please make sure he has lost all his old shin, especially around the eyes.

Good luck to you and your baby.

  3. You could try soaking him down in warm water and then rubbing it off with your thumb, or take a pillow case and soak it with warm water, sqeeze all the excess water from it and put him in it (don't worry he can breath) for about 15-20 mins. Then put him back in his tank. That should loosen up the skin so that he can go and rub it off.

  4. OK,I know what to do.

Run about and inch and a half of warm water in your bath-tub and leave him in their for about 10-25 min it should all come off

Good Luck With The Little Guy:)
