Question:

Snakebite piercing help

Ok.

So I got snakebite piercings just over 7 weeks ago. When I was getting them pierced, I had rings put in, however the piercer assured me that I would be able to change to studs if I wanted once the piercings had healed.

After a week or so and the swelling had gone down, it became apparent that studs weren't gonna work for me, due to the angle which I'd been pierced at (the backs of the studs would be fully visible, even when my mouth was closed).

So, I tried to compromise with circular barbells, which I put in after 6 weeks of being pierced. To begin with I liked them, but then the realization that the piercings weren't symmetrical at all on the inside of my mouth (which meant that the circular barbells lied at different angles) took my annoyance with the piercings further.

Basically, I want to keep my snakebites, but be able to wear studs in them. Yet, it seems the only way for this to be possible is to get them re pierced at a different angle.

Is this the only way? Would I be able to get them re pierced using the same external hole?

Thanks.

Here's some photos to show the angle of the piercings and the lack of symmetry:

  1. That is unsual... I would take them out and get it repierced at another angle, and definitely choose another piercer.

  2. You would need to take the jewelry out and let the holes heal fully (I suggest Vitamin E Oil massages to the area to break down any scar tissue), in order to have them repierced through the same exit hole, but at a different angle.  That's no problem.

I definitely suggest finding a new piercer though, because any compent piercer should be able to match up angles of a piercing.

  3. Weird, so they pierced them vertially instead of horizonally? usually they only do that in the middle! I think first, if they're healed up nicely you should go to a good piercer and see if you can get custom made jewellry to make it look how you want it. Custom jewellry would save you having to go through the healing process agian.

If not, take them out and get them pierced again... And tell them to make sure its horizonal instead of vertical! I'm not too sure why they would do that!
