Snakes Eating Fish?

Question

I have a Brazilian Rainbow Boa, he is about 9 or 10 months old, and I was wondering if he could eat fish. I couldn't figure out why he wouldn't be able to.

I would just get like two or three feeder goldfish and put them in one of his waterbowls, would he eat them, or like with most food would it depend on the snake.

If I did this and fed him live fish, would he still eat the dead mice, or would he only want the live food. Or like with everything else would it depend on the snake.

feeder goldfish are to feed to other fish, not reptiles. they're bad for your snake

It's highly unlikely it would eat them. And feeder goldfish are about the worst fish you can buy. They are high in fat, can be parasitic, and contain a chemical called copper sulfate which builds up in the liver and kidney of reptiles and can reach toxic levels. Minnows from a bait shop are better than goldfish. But honestly, you should stick with rodents. Rodents are more nutritious than fish and snakes don't get bored of eating the same food. They don't need a change.

yea it depends on th types of food the snake like but it could eat live fish and dead mice snakes arent pickey dont listen to the smart one above me

i would only feed mice

dont feed him fish ...( he is not a water snake)

feed him feeder mice( thats all)

i wouldnt fish have loots of parasites and the snake could die
