Question:

Snapshots with a camcorder?

My camcorder takes snapshots.

At my last trip, my camera somehow broke down so I had to use my camcorder to shoot pictures.

Now the problem is I don't know how to ''take'' the snapshots from the tape and ''turn'' them into pictures, like JPEG for example.

I know how to capture video from my camcorder.

I don't have the manual, don't tell me to read it.

My camcorder is JVC GR-D345E, if this helps.

Please help me, all my photos are stuck on that DV tape...

  1. I have a JVC 290 . Snapshots are saved onto a SD card ,there is a switch inside a cover that switches from tape to card . Have a look for something similar in yours. Also som video editing programs let you save still shots !

  2. Go to tools and then take picture from preview and you should get the picture and be able to do watever with it.

  3. Your pictures are saved as  a static video.  Once you've got the video on your PC you can use any editing app to save a single frame as a still.  If you're using Windows Movie Maker it's under Tools / Take Picture From Preview.
