Question:

Sneezing Cat...Vet visit or no?

My cat has been sneezing for about a week now, at first it was occasional and now it's little batches of sneezes. She doesn't have any real nasal drainage, and she's eating and drinking just fine (drinking a good amount). Her nose is a little damp, and she's kinda sad-looking...is this just a "common cold" that will pass on it's own or should I be taking her to the vet?

Her eyes are clear and she's using the litter box like normal, too...just to note.

Thanks!

  1. here are some sites that might help you.

i can tell you if she sneezes out anything green take her to the vet i almost lost my cat due to an upper respitory infection. before we got him the lady  decide to bath him but didnt see if he was truly dry before she give us and when he sneezed it was green and gross. but i hope the websites help good luck

  2. Definitely time for the vet.  It is not going to go away on it's own and most likely will get worse.  A week is long enough to wait.

Good Luck.  Hope she feels better soon. :)

  3. Sounds like allergies. But, if you feel better have her checked anyways.

  4. I'd say it would be better if you take it to the vet. that sounds like she's not getting better by simply resting and the normal care that she receives as usual. whereas, if you don't take her to the vet it might get worse and it might cost you more.

Home cats are very weak animals. you need to pamper them when they're sick!

  5. It seems like allergies I probably would not take mine to the vet but if it makes you feel better then you should

  6. Take her to the vet for a check-up as it could be the Cat Flu

Is she up to date with vaccinations? As this would help prevent it also, be safe and get her checked out :-)
