http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Sneijder-c36799 was back on the practice pitch after recovering from injury, but is still to represent Inter Milan in a match because of a dispute over his contract
The coach for the side Andrea Stramaccioni is still asserting that the midfielder is not being held back as some might think. Neither is the club forcing him to sign a new contract or black mailing him with this tactic of no games
until he signs.
Marco Branca the sporting director for the team stated last week that the Dutchman will not play another game until the problem with his contract has been resolved. Stramaccioni however stated that the final decision about Sneijder
playing matches for the outfit rested with him at the end of the day.
"I think his situation is more simple than it might seem. The coach has the final say on the matter and I chose not to include him in the squad. It's not a punishment," Stramaccioni said in a press conference.
He is still holding back the final verdict though he will probably make up his mind just short of the next game.
"I see what goes on in training during the week and when the game comes round I make my choices according to what is best for Inter.” added the coach.
The boss however was reluctant about answering further questions from the media directed at him concerning rumours about Sneijder being forced to sign a contract.
"Anything else you need to ask the club about, I'm not interested in what goes on away from the pitch." he said defensively.
The Nerazzurri are pressing the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 International to sign a contract with the club that effectively extends his tenure until 2015.
The 28 year old however does not want to commit for an extra year. Additionally the club is also suggesting a pay cut which also explains his reluctance to initial the new deal.
Sneijder was imported from Real Madrid on 27th August 2009 for a reported fee of 15 million Euros. The first game he played for his new employers resulted in a derby win for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 against AC Milan. The centre fielder
has appeared 73 times for the Nerazzurri and has scored 13 times during his stay.
