Snooker Championship League 2011 winners group: Day one - Results
The winners group of Snooker Championship League 2011 comprised of Matthew Stevens, Ali Carter, Shaun Murphy, Mark Allen, Mark Williams, Ryan Day and Mark Selby. At the end of the play on day one, Stevens led the group on points table with three points as
he grabbed three victories out of the four matches he played.

The closest and the most outstanding match was played between Mark Allen and Ryan Day. Allen crashed the Welshman 3-2 after grabbing the decider frame. Allen sparked his cue beautifully in the initial frames. He fired a sensational 77 break in the first
frame to snatch the frame 92-21, and pick a one-frame lead over Day.
The 2005 European Billiard and Snooker Association (EBSA) European Under-19 Champion, Mark Allen extended his lead to 2-0 when he cued an impressive century break of 118 in the second round to take the frame 126-6. The 2007 Shanghai Masters runner-up, Ryan
Day, stunned the Irishman when he struck back and clinched back-to-back frames and levelled the match.
The 31-year-old Welshman sparked his cue brilliantly and smashed a couple of great knocks of 114 and 94 in the third and fourth frame respectively, and forced the match into a decider frame.
The 2004 International Billiard and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Amateur Championship winner, Allen was on fire from the beginning. Despite Day’s amazing potting and break building, the 25-year-old Irishman held his nerves and focused on the game in the
decider frame. He took the last frame 14-105, pocketing an excellent break of 98. He trashed Ryan Day of Wales 3-2.
An in-form Stevens crashed Liang Wenbo 3-0 on Tuesday, to storm into the winners group. He played four matches and was victorious in three. He beat Mark Allen 3-0, Ryan Day 3-0 and Shaun Murphy 3-2 to lead the points table at the end of the first day though
he lost to Mark Selby 1-3.
