  1. snooker cues are typically longer than billiard cues, mostly to accommodate the larger table size.  the standard size of a billiard cue is 57'',  snooker cues are about 4 to 6"s longer(every manufacturer is little different)

  2. any one would do

  3. ideally try and get one that comes just up to your armpit

  4. Well your lucky in that you average heights so your bulk standard cue is made to fit your height so.... you want 57 inches.

You want a 9.5mm tip maybe a little smaller depending on how good you are (the smaller the tip the easier to impart unwanted side-but the easier to impart wanted spin.)

and as your playing on a 12foot table you'll properly want to invest in a cue which in compatible with a mini-but extension. Then obviously buy an 8inch mini but.

Depending on how serious a player you are you may even want to buy a larger 20-23 inch telescopic extension.

Also there isn't much, if any difference between a cue for £30 and a cue for £60 or even more.  So unless your going to fork out a fortune for a hand sliced or custom made cue i suggest you buy the cheapest suitable cue!- I know this from experience!

  5. the tip shouls reach up to your shoulder.Go to a stockists and feel a number of cues and choose one that you feel comfortable with.
