Just listening to LBC, where a black man phoned in and told the presenter that snooker is a racist game because the white ball has to hit the colored balls. Is he okay?

  1. iM SURE THAT HE IS FINE , AND I BET ANY MONEY U ARE WHITE AND I BET THAT U EVEN THINK THINGS LIKE BAA BAA BLACK SHEEP IN THIS DAY AND AGE IS OK TOO..............

ITS NOT ABOUT THE GAME BUT THE MEANING BEHIND THESE THINGS . i WOULD TAKE OFFENCE TOO IF I WAS A PERSON OF COLOUR ..

  2. We Native Americans should be pissed Look at all the reds you get to shoot at Sounds like the man had a little humor also

  3. This is such an old joke.  Chris Rock did a piece years ago on Saturday Night Live as his character "Nat X" where he made the same comments about pool.  This is about the sixth time that somebody has asked this question thinking they are clever and original.  Give it a couple of days and someone will ask if they should go for the "easy pink" or the "tight brown" for the fiftieth time.  Grow up, people.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  4. BALLS...YUMMMY

  5. OK each coloured ball represents points, but if you pocket the white ball as well as the black.....you lose forfeit the points!!!  What if all the coloured balls were white....how would the point system work?!?!

The black ball has the highest scoring points.... so does that not mean the black ball is the most important out of all the colours???

In the game of snooker, the black is the most superior???  The white ball is a mere tool to score the points?!

  6. its nt a racist game

  7. I think he's probably out to lunch.

  8. If you say so - I expect the snooker balls don't feel emotion or hatred nor are affected by racist remarks.

  9. ignore people who use their personal prejudices to criticize sports they don't understand - snooker is game of extreme skill and eye and hand coordintation - play it and you will know what i mean

  10. Ignor it

  11. Wow! Maybe we should outlaw croquet too!

  12. Ran out of things to sue about so had make something up

  13. Only a racist mind would think like that. Anyone can be racist no matter what their colour, it works all ways, not just white - black. All of it is bad but i believe it is slowly being eradicated. Fingers crossed.

  14. People look for deeper meanings in everything, especially if they want an excuse to show how difficult things can be for them.

In cultures all over the world colours have a variety of meanings, completely independent of the colour of peoples skin, largely because such signifiers range from beyond such times of multinational contact.

It is not wrong, that as a species (and I mean humans) have cultures built up around what they see around them. White and black (which as artists around me have always pointed out are media, not colours) are polar opposites as far as colours are concerned and have often been positioned against each other - this is not a racial issue.

I've been in China for the last year where one of the most popular games involves playing white against black pieces - this is not a social commentary on the class struggle between ethnic groups in the devloped world but a thousand years old game based on strategy and balance. Racism doesn't even enter into it.

This gentleman's point of view is merely a reading of the game. He is, of course, entitled to his opinion, however that doesn't mean that it has any real foundation.

It is a strange fact that the majority of people who comment on racist bigotry or religion never take the time to look at the background of what they are going to comment on, or think about the bigger picture of what they are going to say.

It's worth thinking that of the colours, yes - the black is worth the most points, but the pink - the 'colour' most associated with caucasians (after white) is next in line.

And how many Green and Blue people have you seen? Really?

  15. That's not a very nice of him.

But if that is his rationale, then the Chinese should be complaining coz the yellow ball only counts for 2 points and black goes for 7.

Does this mean that Chinese are worth less than Blacks?

  16. hes joking but he aint wrong either.

  17. Hi B D,

    Good Buddy,

He is not joking.People like him have no sense of humour.

He is laying the ground to claim huge amounts of money from some white idiot or another.

He is also a racist because the white ball is in a minority compared to the "balls of colour".

and as a minority has claim to be treated better than anyone else.

Is it not racist to give the "balls of colour" a priority over other colours. And also give the black a massive count of seven!

WHAT IS MORE! The oppressed white ball loses points if it goes into a pocket.

WHEREAS the FASCIST, RACIST BLACK BALL gets a huge, score of SEVEN!

this is racism of a most vicious kind!

Furthermore the poor white ball "victim" is continually smashed in the ribs by the cue,

Something that NEVER happens to the OTHERS!

    IS THIS FAIR???

  18. It was just a joke, not a very good one.

  19. Of course this is a funny spoof but at least it highlights the DARK SIDE of some of the PC brigade. We have problems with the BLACK ECONOMY and the people who are against traditional British culture should be put on the BLACK LIST .

A BLACK SPOT in modern civilisation is the continued  and widespread  slavery  in mostly northern parts  of Africa, we should  demand an apology for this 21st century slavery.

  20. Yeah! an if you want to win you HAVE to hit the Black ball with the White Ball into the pocket....I think it should be banned.......c**p.

  21. well of course it racists the stupid colored balls have to be hit to go where they are supposed to

  22. He is a ball short of a full rack
