Snooker news: Ronnie O’Sullivan progresses to the next round after a brilliant finish of 147 in the World Open
The English snooker veteran Ronnie O'Sullivan is performing marvellously in the World Open snooker tournament, which is being held in Glasgow.
In his recent performance the 34-year-old performed amazingly well and blasted a splendid 147 break and settled the brawl in a victorious manner. He brushed his veteran rival Mark King away by 3-0. In the match the Briton looked very comfortable to pot the
pink ball before going for the black ball in the last frame of the match.
Sullivan will now face his veteran rival Jimmy White in the fourth round of the World Open snooker tournament. It is to be noted that the remarkable 147 break from O Sullivan was the 10th record-holding break of his career, which is no doubt a very vital
proof of the command and perfection of this snooker veteran over his game. It is also to be remembered that his opponent Stephen Henry holds a record of nine maximum break finishes.
Ronnie O Sullivan is showing his best class and perfection in Glasgow. Currently number six in the ranking, Sullivan is eyeing the top spot again, and his previous performance is a strong proof which shows his eagerness to grasp the number one ranking again.
After missing the snooker tour which was held in Shanghai, it was hard for the 34-year-old to keep the winning streak alive, but he has turned the roars down and showed the best of him like never before.
It was a jaw-dropping performance by the Briton, who took the first frame of the game remarkably well by his extraordinary performance. He finished the frame in ten minutes after the breaks of thirty eight and seventy five. The second frame of the game was
very easy for Sullivan, as his rival made frequent errors by playing a very ordinary game and made only fifteen. As compared to Mark King, Sullivan kept his head in a better way and took the game very seriously. After winning the second frame, the 34-year-old
fought brilliantly well to capture the glory by displaying some remarkable moves. The world number six displayed his brilliance and class by potting maximum balls in just ten minutes and finished the tussle by breaking a remarkable 147.
It was a pretty amazing performance by him, and it had certainly given him the amount of confidence which he desired. After winning the game by 3-0, O Sullivan seemed very relaxed and expressed his emotions very excitedly by saying that it was a very special
victory for him. While talking about his 147 break, the British snooker veteran expressed his views and said that his intentions were to pot the black ball, when he was told by the referee that there was no 147 break prize. O Sullivan said that his focus was
to win the game by giving his best, and he was not thinking about making a record or finishing the frame with 147. While talking about the money on 147, the 34-year-old expressed his views by saying that the prize money for 147 is very discouraging for the
snooker players.
On the other hand, in other matches of the tournament, the snooker player from China Liu Song displayed some quality play and thrashed his opponent Joe Jogia and won the match by 3-1. This match was no doubt an encouraging match for the Chinese, as his win
over the world number 20 has given him a very strong confidence boost for the upcoming major matches of the tournament.
Jamie Cope also showed his brilliance by defeating Dave Harold by 3-2 to progress in the next stage.
Ronnie O'Sullivan will now face Jimmy White in the next stage of the event. The match between these two rivals is going to be a fantastic battle as both players are performing well, and they have the guts to turn a match around in no time.
