Snorkeling? what is the process? im not a very good swimmer

Im going on a cruise to the key west island and cozumel mexico

and some activities there are snorkeling. it sounds fun but im not a very good swimmer. So where do you go snorkeling? middle of the ocean? is it deep?

  1. When you go on a cruise ship, the general snorkeling is near shore, there will most likely be reefs to snorkel  around.  out in the middle of the ocean, yes it is deep, and generally there is not a lot to see.

    The process, you get your gear on, fins, mask, and snorkel.  You will float face down in the water and breathe normally through your mouth.  if you want to dive, get a breath, hold it and head down, when you want air, surface, blow the air out through your mouth with force to expel the collected water.

    Enjoy your trip, and don't molest the sharks.


  2. I think the cruise staff will suggest you the easiest beach or place to go snorkeling.

    I think you can use floats to help you, if that makes you feel comfortable.

    As soon as you get used to use the snorkel (five minutes), you'll be alright.
