  1. it depends what you want, i ski every winter in quebec, and its FREEZING up there, im an advanced skier, so i would recommend, long underwear, the thermals, regular clothes(jeans and a shirt), maybe some underarmour after the thermals, then your snowpants, and jacked, and make sure your covered, gettin snow in your jacket is NOT fun...

  2. this is all down to personal choice and weather conditions, on a cold day i would reccomend; a thermal layer, followed by a fleece jumper and then a ski jacket. layers are the best because you can always remove a layer to get your most comfortable body temperature, and too hot is better than too cold.

also with the right accessories you can adjust your body temperature. inner gloves, scarves, neck warmers, hats, ect

the only true test to see what suits you is to walk around town in your ski gear first and then expect at 10 degree drop when on the mountains.

good luck have fun on the snow.

  3. You need to wear something over the thermals, usually just the ski pants will suffice for me. Layers of thin clothing will keep you more comfortable than one thick layer. The advantage is you can easily remove a thin layer or two as you get warmer. When you ski or board you will generate body heat, you will need to stay hydrated.  I ski 5-7 days a week and my typical dress is thermal leg coverings under water repellant ski pants, one pair of socks, a thin shirt under a turtleneck shirt and then a sweater with a jacket, fleece is added in cold weather, the sweater goes away in the spring.  A pair of Gortex type gloves and eye protection, helmet or hat that covers the ears, and sunscreen ( SPF 45+)  finish the outfit for the on snow activities.

Add a swimsuit for the hot tub and dancing shoes for the evening.
