Snow Fairy ready to complete hat-trick
Since her last start of August 19, the Ed Dunlop trained bay mare, Snow Fairy, has been having taxing drills to build up on the momentum produced by her two consecutive triumphs and fix all of her fault lines ahead of her entry in the high-profile event
of Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes (Group 1). Today is the time for the veteran runner to prove her skills along with completing the hat-trick as she is going to run over 1 mile and 2 furlongs at Leopardstown.
The five-year-old maverick mare is well-prepared to face five mighty rivals for the sake of the prize money worth €434,500.
The Irish runner possesses an impressive track record. Of her total 20 starts, she has won 8 emphatically. During the last year, she made some glaring marks.
After two consecutive runner-up ranks along with two thirds, the brilliant sprinter bagged the ace title of the 18-runner event of Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup (Grade 1) (3yo+ Fillies & Mares) (Turf), held at Kyoto on November 13.
Then the daughter of Intikhab out of Woodland Dream took a long break to improvise her skills. She returned to action on August 19 and surprised all by winning the Darley Prix Jean Romanet (Group 1) (4yo+ Fillies & Mares) (Turf) at Deauville.
Now, Snow Fairy has an ideal chance to complete her second hat-trick. From the opposition camp, Light Heavy is the only runner who can challenge her.
Interestingly, the J. S. Bolger trained chestnut colt has achieved all of his three victories at Leopardstown; thus, he has a lot of familiarity with the track he will run over today.
Debuting in October 2011 with the runner-up position, the confident colt convincingly won a race each in March, April and May under Kevin Manning.
The same jockey will drive him at the same venue. This is the reason some sport experts opine that the young colt can prove to be a potential threat for Snow Fairy.
Hence, a neck-to-neck battle is expected in the race. The heated action will be greatly amusing to the huge crowd of the sport lovers. Let us join the thrilling party.
