Question:

Snow/Ski-pants: What is the metal hook in the liner for?

I bought a pair of Burton snowboard pants. The liner that (i think) you're supposed to tuck inside the snowboard boot - right by the ankle there is a metal hook. It must serve some purpose but all it was doing to me was digging into my ankle. Anybody know what it's actually for?

Thank you for your time.

  1. The gaiter (liner) goes on the outside of the boot.  The metal hook attaches to your boot lace to keep the gaiter from riding up so you don;t get snow in the top of your boot

  2. yes, it hooks the cuff of your pant to your boot---never tuck anything in to your boots.
