Snow Trooper tipped to win Skybet.Com Handicap
Snow Trooper has all the potential and personas that will help him lift the ace title of the Skybet.Com Handicap here at Windsor racecourse on Monday, June 18.
In the Class 4 contest, the Dean Ivory-trained veteran gelding will cover the distance of 1 mile and 67 yards under Shane Kelly who has driven him to accomplish two classic conquests since the dawn of the calendar year.
On March 30, the maverick horse marvellously finished first in the Lingfield Park Owners Club Handicap while running against 8 rivals. This victory proved to be a big morale booster for the victor who went on to grab 3rd spot in the very next outing on April 28.
On May 19, Kelly drove the brilliant gelding to finish 7th against 14 competitors in Popteleocom.CO.UK Handicap that was held at Newmarket.
The son of Iceman out of Snow Shoes meticulously used his form and the favourite tag to grab a grand victory in his last outing on June 11. Being a 7-4 favourite, he convincingly claimed the title of St John Handicap.
Following these superb successes, the experienced horse seems to be packed with confidence at the moment. He will surely take a little time to dominate his 11 competitors including Top Diktat, The Cayterers, Pat’s Legacy, Jack’s Revenge, Hayaku, Mahadee, Great Shot, Choral Festival, Great Charm, Peponi and Katmai River.
However, Katmai River can give tough time to Snow Trooper. The Mark Usher-trained bay gelding has been at the peak of form since the dawn of 2012.
During January-February, the veteran horse achieved three runner-up ranks in a row. He moved on to bag a couple of consecutive triumphs during April-May while being a hot favourite for each of these events.
The son of Choisir out of Katavi finished 4th in his last start on June 12. As a whole, he has won 6 of his total 37 races so far.
In this situation, it is expected that there will be fierce battle between Katmai River and Snow Trooper. The event will have many twists and turns. Let us enjoy the appealing action. Good luck to all the contestants.
