Snow day!!!!?

I live in Texas and we don't see snow very often (maybe twice a year, but it rarely sticks.) Yesterday in a matter of 45 minutes there was a blanket of snow covering the ground. I couldn't help but laugh at the reporters on TV bundled up on the side of the highway reporting accidents, due to the weather. I just couldn't help but think how ridiculous us Texans must be acting because we never see snow.

Are there any other southerners that got hit by the snow storm that rolled through yesterday? If so give me some good stories.

I made a killer snowman only to have it plowed down by my fiance in his truck! It was quite a site, LOL

  1. Ha ha!  Us Northerners are laughing our a$$es off at you guys, running around like fools down there.  We`are under winter storm warning until Sunday, and my son still had to go to kindergarten today.

I don't have any cute snow stories to share, but I was watching the Weather Channel this morning and they were broadcasting from Texas.  Said it was the first snow you've had since 1962?!  Anyway, the weather guy was standing on an interstate with a frozen bottle of water, that they'd left out overnight to show how cold it really was.  Everyone was all excited- "WOW! IT FROZE!  OOOOOOHHH!"

That amused me, for some reason.

  2. Snow is pretty, but if you lived here in Ohio, you would be so sick of it by now. Every ones snowed in now, were getting a blizzard!. It's our worst snowfall this year.

My 13 yr.old son is on the road with his uncle, they were out working. My son is home schooled, so everyday is a snow day for him. Dylan was just on 610 talk radio, telling the host about the roads.

People are sliding off the roads, Semis are jackknifing left and right. It's only gonna get worse here. I just pray they get home safely, no one is really suppose to be on the roads. It is about 7degrees here with the wind chill factor.

My kids are begging for me to let them go out and build a snowman and igloo, but I had to tell them no, it's just way too cold.

  3. Yes I saw that on the news this morning.. Texas never has snow.. my husband was even saying that because he used to live there about 10 years ago.  You Texans act about as ridiculous as us Californians when it snows.. lol.  Have a great day playing in the snow!  ;-)
