  1. Not that far south.  4X4, that's not true.  High Cascade on Mt. Hood in Oregon has a summer camp, and The Camp of Champions in Vancouver (oh Canada!) has the same.  The southern hemisphere is flipped from us, so our summer is their winter.  That's why a lot of summer riding for the pros happens down south.  You could probably manage to ride until sometime until the end of April to the beg. of may.  I'm not sure how the weather is over there, so I can't comment.  But when I visited the Lake a couple years ago in the summer, I could still see snow at the top.  So I'd say you'd probably be good to about May-ish.  I may be off though.

Anyways, spring conditions are definitely happening.  Trees are blooming and my allergies are acting up.

  2. Here are the estimated close dates for some resorts in Tahoe:

    Squaw – May 21st

    Heavenly – May 4th

    Kirkwood – April 20th

    Mt. Rose – April 20th

    Northstar – end of April

In really big snow years, there have been some that opened on weekends all the way into mid / late June (SUMMER!). But this only happens sometimes - this year started out great, but we didn't get much in Feb / Mar.

    Good Luck

  3. Here's the deal. Basically, no, there aren't really areas in tahoe during the summer. IF you are a local Here, there are places that you can go to find yourself some good terrain with some snow still around during august even.  This year though, because of the warmth, i doubt that there will be any snow around anywhere.

If there is going to be snow, you have to hike the mountains outside of Markleeville.  I've done it a few times, but it really isn't worth it.  I would stick with a summer resort that still has some snow - and not in the tahoe area.

  4. In the summer? Like 2 months from now? Nowhere! Matter of fact the snowboarding season is dwindling down and only a few resorts remain open up here. I'd try to get my snowboarding in within the month if I were you, cause it's already starting to melt.

R4L You don't live here and your telling me I am wrong? Were you around this part this year to predict the weather conditions 2 months from now? I doubt it. Stay in Oregon.

Like the other local and I have said, in 2 months there will be no snow, because it is already dwindling down. But I am sure there is a lot of snow in Oregon (rolls eyes) so I would take R4L's advice...NOT.
