    At some level, all answers are correct but I have to assume that you are talking about heat transfer from ice to earth.


  2. I hope these aren't your only choices.

    The ground does not freeze because of snow. Snow acts as an insulator. The Earth has it's own heat which seeps out at the surface.

    If the air temperature is cold enough, the snow will become colder too, and then the ground can freeze. This will happen in spite of the snow, not because of it.

    If the snow is against the ground and the ground freezes, it would be because of conduction.
