  1. give it a try, I bet it still works.

  2. It depends upon the mountain rules and the pass agreement that was signed at the start of the season.  Best way to find out is to call the guest service dept at the area.  If the work days commitment was met, probably you can still use it. The dependent pass is a benefit of employment, if there were problems with the termination, it may be revoked, or may not.

  3. Depends on the ski area.  Chances are they have more important things to do than research and cancel your pass. I'd go for it, the most they can do is tell you it's declined.

  4. If it has a barcode on the pass and the lifties walk around with annoying hand scanners, your chances of that thing working are slim.

At smaller places that don't scan passes and tickets your chances are better.

Heck...I let kids on the lift this year who I thought were still employees. During our first week five ex-ski school instructors were skiing and I just let them on the lift. I didn't even look at the passes because I knew who they were...but I didn't know they weren't working this year.

Also, places that have mid-mountain lifts are easier to poach in general because the lifties figure if you got up that high you were already scanned or had your pass checked. At one VT resort (which shall remained unnamed) I easily made it past the Bulgarian liftie at the base and then skied the top of the mountain, riding the same mid-mountain lift, for three hours one day. No one even checked my ticket.

    Good Luck.
