How does friction help and hinder snowboarders?

  1. Friction slows you down, such as on snow, rails, various jibs.  It's also bad for body raspberries.  When an exposed part of your skin rubs against the snow.

    It helps by allowing you to stay in control of your speed.  You would easily slide off the side of a trail without it.
