Snowblower maintenance issue?

Question

some squirrels went into the impeller and built a nest, after i clean out rope, twigs and acorns, the chain rusted cuz i left the cover off. What do i put on the chain that wont affect the rubber disks and do i spray anything on them also?

Use a silicon based product on the rubber.  You can use on the chain to, but I would go with oil for the chain.
