Question:

Snowblower storage?

I have a Sears snowblower. It is stored in my garage all year long. Do I need to empty the fuel tank or mix in some additive, or is it okay as is for the rest of the year?

Last year, I left my lawnmower in the garage as is, and it works fine.

  1. I always use a product called StaBil. Its available at just about everywhere. Your gas won't break down during the winter. The problem with draining is what to do with the gas after draining. No environmental problems with the additive.

  2. just add some additive to the fuel it will be fine if you can disconnect the fuel line to the carbuerator and run all the fuel out of the carb so it doesnt gum it up also before you use it in the winter you probably should change the oil hope this helps

  3. I leave my snowblower alone....but I start and run it a few times in the off season. Never had a problem and it's 15 years old....MTD

  4. i drain the gas from mine and them put blocks under it to take the weight of of the tires for the summer. in early fall i change the oil, check the tire pressure, grease any fittings that it has, and then put in a new spark plug. then i start it and run it for a while so that if any moisture has built up in the gas line/filter it is all pushed out and your good to go when that first big snow hits. (mine sits under the back porch, so i put a tarp over it).
