Question:

Snowboard Bindings - Which to purchase?

by  |  earlier

I've been doing very extensive online research for the past few days in an attempt to find excellent yet inexpensive ($250 or less) snowboard bindings that are most versatile for the rider levels and the terrain (park/freeride/etc.). I've narrowed the choices down to the following:

1. Burton Cartel

2. Ride EX

3. Flux Emblem

4. Rome 390

I've noticed that the Flow bindings (Flite 3, M9) get too many mixed reviews. I want something more solid/certain/reliable. I'm super-ultra picky when it comes to buying outdoor gear so ANY information/advice will help! With all that said, which bindings should I purchase?

  1. burton cartel, i dont have those but i know someone that does and they say there great. i have an older style burton and i love them. the cartels are inexpensive and great cause ive seen bindings that are $600

  2. Too bad you've ruled out the 390's... I got them because my friend has been riding his for 3 years - we are both 100+ days per year riders.  My last bindings broke after only 35 days on snow. So far my 390's are very solid.  If you want to step up from the 390's try the Rome Targa.  Either way I don't think you can go wrong.

  3. i am going thru the same dilema right now.  im considering buying ride exs over the cartels cause id save like fifty dollars as for the other two bindings your considering, i havent looked into them enough to recommend them

  4. burton cartels i have heard many great things about and their well made

  5. I have burton mission bindings with the high back and toe cap straps. they are 1 step down from the cartel. they run like 200. they are spectacular bindings and I love them to pieces

  6. I have Flow's F3 and before I got them I was told by a guy at the shop that Flow's hardly need work, but they are mainly good for quick and easy " in and out" if that is important to you.

  7. Out of the bindings you have listed id recommend the Ride Exs although i admit i havent ever actually ridden Flux or Rome bindings so its hard to comment on those particular makes. But Ride is know for making very good bindings, the words you used solid, certain, reliable are a very good description of Ride bindings ive never heard of anyone breaking a pair before or having problems with them. Good luck with the riding.
