I just went snowboarding for my first time on the 25th at Snow Summit and it kicked my but. I had a few spectacular whipeouts but my brother ( who snowboards all the time at mountain high ) got me set up and taught me all the basics.

What workouts do you think would help me shred better. I am sore all over :(

  1. Actually, as far as workouts go, a general cardio is really good like running, biking, things of that nature that will keep your heart rate going for at least 20 minutes is great.  But, even more so and what alot of people don't do that is really really key to having a positive riding experience is to take about half an hour before you ride to stretch your muscles, that is why your so sore.  If you ask any pro rider they will tell you that they spend time stretching before they ride a major competition.  I have been riding for about 20 years and stretch all the time, even after I ride so the muscles don't get tight again when they start to relax. Dont just stretch your legs, stretch shoulders, stretch backwards to stretch your abs, back and butt muscles...do this and then tell me what you think, I know it will work :) Happy Riding!!

  2. lunges...sit ups, push ups...squats..aerobics..jogging..

    wouldn't your brother know?

i want to go to big bear...only been to mt.high...

  3. wall squat are the best way to go.

just do them as long as you can.

planks can help also; try the side planks, they can be alot harder but they do prepare you.

i just this year as well but i was doing all of this with the team and i think that it really helped me.

    goodluck
