  1. to get off lifts, just be prepared and try to direct your board as best as you can, as to try not to run into others or the people your gettong off the lift with.

For other basic tips, yea, just bend your knees, use your arms.  Also, if you're doing S turns make sure your board is going straight down the mountain before you switch from your heels to your toes.  Use your arms and upper body, they help.  If you know you're going to fall on your butt, bend your arms and expect it.  or use wrist guards.  I've broken my wrist boarding, because i fell and had stiff wrists. not fun.

good luck and have a good time!

  2. I can't stress this enough. Take a snowboard lesson for an hour. You'll never regret it.

  3. I give snowboard lessons for a living.

I agree that you should take a lesson.

My main tip for learners is to always look where you want to go. Keep your back straight and bend at the hips and the knees. Keep your shoulders in line with your hips, knees, and feet.

Don't be scared to fall, you'll be fine!!

  4. bend your knees and dont fall  if it was easy it would be called football

  5. Getting off a lift - you want to kinda turn your body on the chair a little to line up your board straight to go down the ramp, also put your back foot (the one off the binding) right up against the rear binding, or on the stomp pad.

Getting up if you fall - roll over on your stomach its easier to push yourself up that way

Falling - if you fall try to remember to not break your fall by extending your arms because its easy to hurt your wrists, also if you fall and need a second to catch your breath or something be courteous and slide over to the side of the trail so you don't get hit by other riders :)

    Good Luck and have Fun.
