Question:

Snowboard base construction - extruded vs. sintered?

I've been reading that sintered bases are faster than extruded bases but can the difference in speed be felt on the slopes or is it just theoretically faster or is the difference very insignificant?

  1. The reason that sintered bases are faster is that they hold the wax better and are much harder - which lasts longer.

The difference is speed isn't noticable to me, but I really do notice how much harder they are to scratch and how much better the wax seems to work.

    Good Luck
