  1. ok.  uhh for bindings, i would recommend burton bindings of any kind, but i suggest ankle locks (the back part of the binding that folds will be able to lock onto the heel of your binding so it doesnt move).  what are also nice is clickin bindings- you have great control of your board, and they are easy and fast to use

  2. very imformative question..  YEs you need them for snowboarding.

Most snowboard bindings are interchangeable among different decks....    ummm i dont know what else to say

  3. Burton bindings as by far the most popular and of the highest quality. Which type? Depends on your price range.

The Burton Customs (08) have become and incredible popular model. Their plus side is that they have a toe strap which curves around the top and front of your toe which then holds your boots down far better than the bindings which simply have a strap on top of your boot. They run around $140.

Burton Mission bindings are the next step up. They're similar, better design, and with a little more "beef" in the pads. They run around $160+.

Finally Burtons top model (this year), would be the Cartel bindings. Theses are like the other pairs, but are professional grade, with more features. These go for $180-$210.
