Anyone who has the new crank system in their boots tell me if you like it. Also does the wire break or is it strong?

  1. The system you are referring to is called the BOA system. It is used by Vans, 32, DC and probably some other companies as well. It is actually not as new as you might think... its about 10 years old. In that past decade they have worked out the bugs and made alterations occordingly. The wire is less likely to snap than a set of regular laces is to break. The downside to the BOA system, along with most other speed lacing systems, is that it is hard to customize your fit. Definitely try the boots on first. I am sure some people have problems with BOA just like every other system but for the most part its a good alternative to conventional lacing boots.
