Question:

Snowboard entry level??

I was looking at some snowboards and I saw that some boards are made for beginners and some for advanced riders. Right now, I'm a beginner, but I don't want to have to buy another board when I'm more adanced just because I started out with a beginner board. So, is it ok to buy an intermediate or advanced snowboard even though I'm just a beginner? If not, why?

  1. Yes, but it is more expensive.  As long as you know you'll stick with it it should be no problem.  A more expensive board may be firmer or more flexible or have certain characetristics making it easier for powder or icy conditions.  That is what makes it more expensove, but a beginner will not have more difficulty learning on an expensive board than an inferior one.

  2. As a begineer rider you should no way consider buying a advanced board as you will find it a nightmare to ride and i wouldent go for an intermediate either at this stage. All entry level boards made by quality brands are progressive enough to last you a couple of years after once you have learned the basics. Some good entry level boards that would suit you are

    Nitro Mystique

    Burton Feather

    K2 Skyla

    Rome Blue

    Sapient Fluid

    Ride Vista

    Salomon Lotus

    Good luck with the riding.

  3. You could get an intermediate board, but stay I would stay away from advanced boards as they will be more specialized - advanced freeride boards too stiff for beginners, freestyle boards too flexible for learn turning / carving on runs).

Good intermediate boards - Ride, K2, or Burton

    Good Luck
