Snowboard equpiments!?

Question

What is the longest/shortest snowboard a guy my size should get? I'm about 5 7 weighing about 190 lb.

I'm also curious about what kind of binding/boots I should get.

My shoe size is 10½.

And how much clothing is recommended when snowboarding around 19F temperature.

Well I'm assuming you're a beginner and you won't be in the terrain park for a while so you'll want a bit longer board. I would recommend shortest being 150 cm and the longest being 157 cm.

I always get my boots about a full size bigger than my shoe size because the liners inside are usually pretty snug, so maybe a 11/12. Some good brands are Ride, K2, Burton, Flow, Forum...

For 19F I would wear a good warm coat with maybe a long sleeve shirt underneath and some thermal underwear underneath your snow pants. Some gloves/mittens and a beanie. Goggles/sunglasses depending on the weather. Make sure you wear wool socks and NOT cotton. Cotton absorbs water which equals cold, uncomfortable feet.

You should get a snowboard that is between your chin and your nose. I would go a little on the short side if i were you because they're easier to control.

I wouldn't worry too much about bindings because yours probably work fine. As long as they can strap in the boot, they work.

As far as boots, I just bought some Burton Tributes for $100, they're the cheapest burtons and they work just fine. Plus they don't have any complicated stuff.

For clothing just go with standard stuff and layer. Make sure you have something to protect your face, but with snow pants and a snow coat you just need to wear sweats and stuff underneath to keep warm.

If you're willing, you can get really lucky at garage sales. I have a nice board that was $25, and just happens to be my size cause i'm average sized.

Oh, and don't go for c**p brands. Try to get well known stuff to be safe, like morrow, burton, forum, ride, or whatever.
