  1. Learn how to carve really well and you can cut back and forth on a steep mountain to help keep a moderate speed...In other words, work on turning on a small run, so when you go onto a bigger one you'll b a pro.

  2. You are not kind of good if you can't control your speed!

  3. When ever you start to pick up speed go to either your toe or you heel edge and the go to the opposite one you went to. Carve it up.

  4. If you fall and can't control yourself I wouldn't call you a "good" snowboarder!

Work on your turns. Stay on a green run and work on linking turns until you can do a run without bailing and then move up to the next one. Use your edges to slow you down, when you have too much speed up make a turn and dig in to stay in control. If you have a lot of speed coming out of the turn go across the run instead of down it to get back into control and then turn down it again when you're ready.

To not fall when you're turning make sure you don't dig your edge in too early, you want to keep the board flat across the fall line and then continue through it.

Try watching the "Boarding Skool" videos on youtube, they might help you understand some of the techniques.

  5. CARVE THE MOUNTAIN

  6. if you dont know how to carve or you do, jus not well...then try takin it easy..by sliding on either your heels or your toes down the steep part then everytime you go down the steep part build upon what u jus did so start sliding on your heels then slowly go to your toes then every run keep tryin to carve faster and faster and with less rotation of your upper body. That is called quick carving...

  7. carving!

while turning does tend to slow you down

just work on your carving that should help

  8. Lots of people trying to get you to do carved turns... well, I think that is a bit premature.  If you are having difficulty controlling speed with sliding turns and falling down when stopping, then you are not ready to learn carved turns.  carving will increase your speed and requires more skill.  To control speed on steeper terrain, try to made your sliding turns come around faster.  The less time your spends in the fall line, the less speed you will pick up.  Unfortunately, I can't tell you how to do this without watching you ride because the method used depends on the level of riding that you are capable of.   Short turns make for more controlled riding.  Practice on less steep terrain and when you start to get into the flow of things take it to something steeper.   If all else fails, sign up for a lesson or two.

  9. Try digging the back of your board into the snow and face infront of you, that'll definitly slow you down.
