My son would like to start boarding this winter, and I don't know what size gear to buy him. He is 10 years old, 5 foot 2, weighs 110 lbs and wears a mens 8.5 shoe.

  1. beginner, you wana get a board 145 - 150, medium bindings and a boot thats a 9 this is just an idea from what you've said! you really need to take him to the store to get the gear when he trys boots on make sure he has some ski socks and a normal pair of socks on, its best to wear both when boarding to avoid blisters!

make sure the boots and bindings go together, best get same make for boots and bindings this way they'll "communicate" better!

    this is all probably confusing

hes a beginner so dont spend loads cause he'll out grow it soon and  it'll get trashed also most expensive isn't always best

    happy shred

  2. The board should reach the bottom of his nose, and the boot size should be a 9.5.

  3. What you want to do is take him to your local shop. Then look at the boards that come up to about his chin height. There you can decide on which board you want to get. im guessing getting him a board from somewhere around 147 to 152.
