  1. I am assuming you are just starting (as i did this year) i would recommend just possibly getting a used board, or an older model (06/07). Ebay would be a great place to search for a board (its where i got mine and im extremely happy with it. also Amazon.com is another great place to search

As for sizing, I have a few sites with sizing tips that you could take a look at

    http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-gui...

    http://www.backcountry.com/store/sizingc...

In my opinion, the best idea would be to go to a local board shop(such as Aspen Ski and Board), and have them help you out with the sizing.

    best of luck!

  2. I like the sizing calculator by Frosty Rider at http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-gui...

The sizing seems right on to me.

  3. If it helps: If you plan to do a lot of tricks and don't need too much extra  help from your board on turns, you want one that falls just below your lips. Some people like them eve smaller.

As for brand, Ride and Rome tend to be the best

  4. A snowboard should typically come up to your lips--somewhere in between your chin and the bottom of your nose. Also, snowboard sizes come in centimeters. I'm estimating your height up to your lips is probably about 64 inches which is 163 centimeters. Therefore, when buying or renting a snowboard you should get a board that is around 164 centimeters. Good luck and have fun snowboarding! :)
