  1. It's normal at the beginning to take some time to figure out if you're regular or goofy.  Try setting up your bindings to goofy, it sounds like you're more comfortable that way.

  2. Make sure your shoulders are right over the top of your board and not pointing over the edge (unless of course you're turning). Remember, wherever you look, you'll go so if you behind you then you'll either fall or switch to regular. What is happening in your case is if you put more pressure on the back leg then the front, your board will either wash out from under you or if you are on an edge you board will turn so you back leg is now in front. To fix the problem make sure you have EQUAL amount of pressure on both feet and keep your shoulder aligned with your board and look where you want to go. Always lead into turns with your front foot. That should fix your problem. Good luck.

  3. I did the same thing when I started out several years ago, eventually I just picked a way I thought was the best and only rode that way.  Once you practice riding only a certain way, you will get good at it and it will feel a lot more comfortable.

  4. yeah , im a beginner and i switch all the time , on every run i start regular and then after a cuple seconds i switch two goofy then i go down the rest of the mountian goofy. or i will keep switching,so yeah it is normal!

  5. You're pretty much doing a falling leaf I guess you could say.  It's a pretty common error for beginners.  Just make sure it doesn't become a habit, or you'll never learn to ride on both edges.  Let me guess, making a heel turn going regular is fine, but when you need to turn to the right, you go into switch (goofy) to do a heel turn to move right.  Am I right?  It's just something that people do because they're not comfortable with their toe turns.  Take it slow on the bunny hill and get your toe turns down before switching back and forth becomes a serious habit.

  6. Yeah back when i was 7 i switched ALL the time! Keep switching to see what one is more comfortable. Eventually you will find the perfect stance.

  7. haha i had the same problem you just described R4L and i agree with you its a horrible habit so i just broke it this passed sunday (one week ago) and i feel so much better now that i can do heel and TOE turns, anyways to answer your question its normall but dont make it a habit or its very hard to brake, most people say keep doing that till you feel comftorable with riding one way but what i did was set up my stance (regular) so it was much harder to ride switch and i was basically forced to ride regular and learn how to do toe side turns. good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
