  1. Any board is good to learn on.  If you're done growing buy nice boots, those will last longer than the board, same with bindings.  Pretty much any board will work and you can always upgrade down the road.

  2. I've never even heard of Exit, but really if you're just starting out and learning the basics any board should do. It's why mountains rent cheapos. If you want a great board for about the same price, look into K2's entry level boards.

  3. Yeah ive had the misfortune of seeing them sold in littlewoods and i imagine it is made by them, and i 100% urge you not to buy that as its not even a proper snowboard.

I cant understand the people above that have said any board is ok for a begineer it isent, when you are a new rider you need a board that is forgiving to ride and learn the basics but is also progressive as well to take your riding to the next level. If you get the wrong board at this stage you will find riding a nightmare. I understand that you are probably low on money and it seems  like a good deal but id advise you to buy secondhand if you need to save money. The sort of boards you should be looking at are Forum Recon, Nitro Revolt, Gnu Carbon High Beam, K2 Select, Burton Clash. All these boards are easy to ride and progress on but will also last you a while. Good luck with the riding.

  4. Almost any board is fine for beginners. The most important part about beginner equipment is getting to get used to using the same set up`all the time.  The first few times to the mountain are all about learning the basic skills and not getting hurt.

My first set up was totally entry level, but I got used to riding, and it was way cheaper than renting.

Make sue the board is the right size for you, worry about brand names later.  It should stand up to your chin, and be rated to hold your weight.  most companies put the specs right on the info with the board, and can be found on their websites.

Right now is a good time to shop for new gear online. The end of season prices cant be beat.  Many ski shop sell heir rental boards at the end of the season. Usually good brands, just scratched up a little.  Also in fall, many ski shops open their seasons with consignment sales.  Good place to find a deal.
