Alright well i've been snowboarding for the past year and i can do jumps and things. My question is: If I go down the mountain goofy and attempt a 180 which way do I spin? Also can I please have some tips on how to land and spin properly, because I attempted it without any foreknowledge and I landed butt-first and it hurt. Advice please thank you.

P.S. I will give the best anwser to whoever gives the most in-depth tutorial or tips.

Thank you Vax :)

  1. OK dude, I ride goofy and i will hook you up.

If you spin to your right. that is called frontside.   Its easy to get it around, but landing switch can be a pain when just starting out because you will tend to lean back. You dont want to do that b/c your going to dump it leaning back because you lose your edging.  How i learned it do the frontside 180 and then quickly turn back into riding your regular stance as soon as you land. ITs a good way to start out learning.

BUT for me as a goofy rider the eaisest spin has always been switch frontside 180s, because your landing in your normal stance. Start out in a regular stance ( your switch)  and spin to your left, thats a switch frontside 180. you really dont even have to ollie and pop the deck off the ground, when learning this you can pretty much just jump the 180. pratice on the ground> Remember to keep those knees bent. and when you fall, PICK YOURSELF back up and do it again and again and again untill you stick it. GO at your own pace, visualize yourself doing the trick, and then just do it!

    GOod luck dude

    Happy shredding

  2. It doesnt matter which way you turn, its whichever way you like. Its probably easier if you start with a front spin. If you start goofy, then spin right. This way you have view of your landing the entire time, instead of going to your back.
