Snowboarding Help: Why do I face plant when transistion from a heel-side turn to a toe-side turn?

The rail on my toe side digs into the snow sending me falling forward on my face Am I turning too aggressively?

  1. you need to keep pressure on your toes and keep it...if you take the pressure off for one second you can face plant so always keep pressure when turning or stopping and have fun =]


  2. try not leaning so far into the turn, its just about getting onto your tippy toes without leaning to far into it that you lose your balance

  3. i had the same problem with you when i first started. what you're doing is turning too much with your back foot thus catching an edge with the toe-side. what you want to do is lean or put the weight on your front foot. you will automatically or at least it will help with turning with the front. hope that helps

  5. Because instead of shifting your weight with your back foot (from your heel to toe like your going from flat-foot to a tippy toe), you're trying to turn the front of the board first with your front foot. Shift your back foot first and let your front foot follow.
