Snowboarding? Im a good skier and i just wanna know....?

Question

whats the deal with snowboarding? im a competant skier, i am able to do black runs at thredbo without any difficulty, is snowboarding much harder? I picked up ski-ing in 1 day, i was already doing blue runs on my 2nd day.

will i find it much harder to snowboard? Just any general info would be good...thanks guys

skiing is easy to learn, difficult to master.  snowboarding is the opposite.   its hard to learn, and easy to master.

you need 3 straight days to get the balancing down. start on a blue.  real flat terrain is hard, you will catch your front edge and bust your head.  on powder days, a board has a HUGE advantage.

I've been a skier since i could walk, and have torn both acls, one mcl, and a meniscus.  I feel more safe on a board for sure.  i will probably never use alpine skiis again, that would be like going from a computer to a type-writter(not counting telemark).

all the stats say that more injuries are on our mounatin are snowboarders, but if you don't count the park rats, then skiing is cause more injuries.  the only non-park bad injury that i've herd of was a guy that shot off lovers leap just after a blast and tore his mcl,  but that was bad judgment independant of stick choice.

Like the others said, skiing is easy to learn and snowboarding is hard and etc. But i do both skiing and snowboarding and even if you are great at skiing and can do the flips, id suggest trying snowboarding cause then you have your pick. Like i like snowboarding park, but skiing pow. Just a suggestion.

Skiing is easy to learn. Snowboarding is harder to learn at first. Thats why when i teach my students i tell them it takes determination. You have to learn how to go sideways down the mountain. many people have the natural tendency to lean back. In snowboarding your suppose to lean forward. But we need to get more people to push themselves. It gets lonley on the double black diamond runs!!!

Its not that hard to snowboard but it is a concept different to skiing.
