Well, I am leaving to go snowboarding in about 45 minutes. This will be my second time. I just don't want to get into any bad habits.

I have trouble leaning backwards and slowing/stopping.

HELP?

  1. dont eat yellow snow

  2. if you try to stand still then, just put your heels in the snow, just keep practising that going down a little hill. then lean backwards and do that after a lot of times nd practise it should help:) and stpping

  3. If you seem to lean back try to lean forwards!!! Just keep trying practice makes perfect (or at least close) Good luck! Have fun!

  4. One important thing is to keep the weight OFF your back foot. You need to have at least even weight on both. That's an easy bad habit to pick up. Also, hold the bottom off your jacket so as not to flail your arms about.

  5. when your looking up the mountain with your back facing down it, DON'T put your heels down or you'll fall on your butt and it HURTS! ad don't go dow the slope with your heels and toes down cos you'll catch an edge [snow building up on the board], and you'll fall the way the snow gets on it. also, put your hands out when you stop or you'll have badly bruised knees, like i have right now.

i wet snowboarding for the second time last night, and thats what had happened.

  6. you just have to do it, just put all your effort into keeping the edge thats facing downhill off the ground...or else... when youre going downhill, just kind of swing your left foot to the left side and at the same time lift your toes up, viola! That's how i taught myself.
