Snowboarding at the Olympics?

So me and a few friends are planning a trip to the 2010 games in Vancouver. Now we all love snowboarding. It's pretty much why were going to see the games. Now were wondering, are ALL the hills going to be closed for the olympics or will there still be some open to board on while were down there?

  1. All the hills at Whistler (site of all the snowboarding and skiing) will be closed. If you want to snowboard while you are there you might want to try a few of the resorts that are located around the area that are close to Whistler, but Whistler itself won't be open for public use. When the Olympics are in a city the city pretty much locks down and it's very hard to do anything with all the security. Good luck in finding a place. I'll be there also to watch the half-pipe.

  2. The ski and snowboarding events will be at Whistler and Blackcomb. It wouldn't be very profitable to shut down the whole mountain for the games. Plus Whistler Blackcomb is HUGE!  So there will be trails open for sure.

  3. Most likely closed to the public prior to and during the event resort due to security issues.

  4. the local hills will probably stay open
